Brief description of the typical work day for an intern at this training site The intern will be scheduled for a 40-hour work week where they will engage in a variety of direct clinical work. This will include individual psychotherapy, psychological assessments, receiving individual supervision, seminar/didactic training, consultation, group supervision, clinical report writing and administrative responsibilities (i.e. documentation & record keeping).

Interview process description:

Interview invitations will be extended to applicants no later than January 21, 2022. Interviews will tentatively take place on Monday, January 23, 2023. The interviews will be held virtually and will include one-to-one meetings with a minimum of two supervising licensed psychologists and Psy.D. training manager. The applicant will have an opportunity to ask questions about the program and speak to our current post-doctoral intern to learn more about the training experience.

Program Description

Our practice mission is to provide a compassionate, peaceful, safe, and unconditional therapeutic environment where clients will be taught the skills and tools to assist in taking accountability and responsibility for their life. We believe this is necessary to begin to awaken to full potential and live more fully in each moment. We believe in the inherent value and inner wisdom of each individual to determine the direction of their own life and it is our role to partner with each individual to identify, explore, and overcome barriers to living an authentic meaningful, healthy, and fulfilling life.

The intership program has been designed to help the psychology intern become competent to provide clinical interventions, diagnostic assessments, and psychological evaluations as entry-level psychologists. Additionally, the psychology intern will begin to enhance knowledge and familiarity with administration, scoring and interpretation of psychological assessments. The internship program provides training in individual psychotherapy utilizing various modalities, psychological testing, diagnostic interviewing and crisis interventions. Additionally, the psychology intern will receive two individual supervision sessions per week with two licensed psychologists, participate in a group supervision session and receive a 2-hour didactic training each week. The internship program provides the psychology intern with an opportunity to work with diverse staff of varying degrees and nurse practitioner to fulfill an interdisciplinary approach to treatment.
