Program Description

The internship program at Integrative Psyche is a 12-month, full-time program, with an emphasis on outpatient psychotherapy and (neuro)psychological assessment. Interns will complete a minimum of 2000 hours of supervised experience. At least 25% of these hours will be face-to-face direct services.

Intern’s schedules will consist of supervision, intakes for therapy, ongoing therapy sessions, intakes for evaluations, psychological and neuropsycholoigcal evaluations, evaluation feedback sessions, didactic activities, and assessment scoring and report writing. The first week of the Internship program will be dedicated to the orientation process to ensure that Interns become familiar and gain proper training and understanding of the use of materials and records involved in providing services at Integrative Psyche.  Interns will then begin to build a therapy case load and take on monthly (neuro)psychological evaluations for the first six months, and then increase to one evaluation every other week. Early in the program, Interns are more closely supervised and observed, and their role is more clearly defined as a trainee. As the year progresses and the Intern’s skills expand and develop, and as the Intern’s confidence grows, the Intern moves toward more independence in clinical work and decision-making, and supervision becomes more collegial in nature.
