Brief description of the typical work day for an intern at this training site A typical day is dependent on the assigned track, specialty rotations and electives for each psychology intern. Typical daily activities include individual psychotherapy sessions, group psychotherapy sessions, interdisciplinary treatment team meetings and communications, assessment sessions, supervision, provision of supervision with junior psychology trainees, research activities and administrative functions including note writing and medical record chart reviews.

Interview process description:

Virtual interviews and open houses will be offered via email for all invited interviewees to be conducted using a video platform given APPIC recommendations and to address equity issues associated with access to interview sites for all applicants and interviewees in the US and Canada. Invited interviewees will attend one of two virtual open houses scheduled before completing virtual interviews with faculty. Open Houses are planned for 12/21/23 3-5pm and 1/2/24 3-5pm. Interviews will be scheduled between 12/21/2023 and 1/31/2024. Applicants who are offered interviews will be required to complete at least two individual video interviews with program faculty. Opportunities to connect with current psychology interns in the program will be offered at pre-selected times in a group format. Pre-recorded images and videos of the Brigham and Women's Hospital and Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital will be provided. Photos of interviewees, which are viewed as optional and in no way required, are requested during or after interviews to assist faculty with recall of interview content.

Program Description

The internship program for 2024-2025 will offer two training program tracks and prospective interns may apply to one or both tracks to be considered for a match to the program. The two tracks include:  - General Adult Track (2 positions) -Neuropsychology Track (1 position). Intern candidates should specify within their cover letter which track(s) they wish to be considered for in the program.

*Please note that our program has submitted a completed self-study to APA for accreditation consideration and is currently under review for accreditation. APA has reviewed the self-study and we have an APA site visit planned for March 4-5, 2024. After this site visit, should APA later determine our program to be accredited, interns who successfully complete their internship year with our program during the training year of the site visit (and interns in subsequent training years) would be able to state they completed an APA-accredited internship. Please be advised that we cannot guarantee that we will ultimately achieve accreditation.
