Program Description

Genesis Counseling Center is a private outpatient clinic in Hampton, Virginia. We are located about an hour from Richmond, Virginia, and three hours from Washington, DC.  We serve a diverse community in the Hampton Roads area, and there are opportunities to work with children, adolescents, adults, and marriage/family counseling.  The internship has a heavy focus on assessment, outpatient psychotherapy, and group therapy, including DBT-skill groups. Our site also has an emphasis on supervision, with opportunities to assist in supervising practicum students. Supervisors have a range of theoretical orientations, including CBT, DBT, ACT, IPT and Psychodynamic. Additional information about our site can be found at Genesis Counseling Center.com
