Program Description

Cherry Hospital, part of the NC Department of Health and Human Services, is located in Goldsboro, North Carolina, about 50 miles from Raleigh and 45 miles from Greenville.  Interns have the opportunity to gain extensive experience with a broad array of patients with severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI). Three primary rotations of four months duration are required. Interns typically do three rotations on three separate services, but an intern can do more than one rotation on a service based on individual training needs. We will be accepting applications for two internship positions. Our deadline for applications is December 15th, 2020. Our benefits include a minimum stipend of $25,648, 80 hours of PTO and 12 days of paid holiday leave. Up to 10% time per week can be used for research/professional development and counted as internship hours.
