Program Description

Diversus Health is a community mental health center serving three counties in Colorado: Park, El Paso, and Teller. Our organization serves children, adolescents, and adults with mental health issues that span the spectrum of disorder from adjustment problems to severe and persistent mental illness. Our treatment philosophy is strengths-based and recovery-focused and the primary theoretical orientations of staff at AspenPointe are CBT, DBT, SFT, and integrative. Diversus Health offers a full spectrum of services from traditional in-clinic to non-traditional, client-driven community and home based treatment. The primary rotation for the internship is in Adult Services, where interns spend 3 days per week. The interns spend the other 2 days each week on minor rotations. The minor rotations include: psychological assessment with children/adolescents, psychological assessment with adults, treatment on an inpatient psychiatric unit, and outpatient substance use treatment.

*Please note that the internship experience is specifically focused on in-clinic services, rather than home-based or community treatment. Our internship is also focused on providing clinical services to adults, with the exception of the Child Assessment rotation which focuses on psychological assessment with children and adolescents.
