Brief description of the typical work day for an intern at this training site Please see brochure for more detail http://www.rqhealth.ca/careers/careers-files/internship.pdf In any given day residents may engage in team meetings, individual supervision, group supervision, supervising junior students, ongoing education, individual therapy, group therapy, psychoeducation individually or in group, research/program evaluation/development, internet-delivered CBT, psychology meetings, assessment, consultation, report writing, note writing, and prep work.

Interview process description:

In keeping with recommendations from CCPPP, interviews will be exclusively held through virtual means. Interviewees typically meet with potential supervisors (individual for one hour), past residents (group or individual, for one hour), and the director of clinical training (for 30 minutes). Interviews will be held in January (January 3-17, 2022). Applicants will be notified via the email address indicated on their APPIC forms--please ensure this address is correct. The focus of all interviews will be on establishing that the applicant has relevant entry-level practitioner skills and that there is a good fit between the expectations and needs of the applicant in pursuing clinical training and the service mandate(s) and functions of the relevant sites.

 

This residency has been accredited by the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) for a five year term (2021-2026). This residency is a member of the Canadian Council of Professional Psychology Programs (CCPPP) and the Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC). Failure to successfully pass this criminal record check or failure to provide proof of full COVID vaccination will constitute grounds for the applicant not to be employed as a resident in this residency program.
