Program Description

The New York-Presbyterian Irving Hospital internship in health service psychology is conducted in conjunction with the Department of Psychiatry. It makes use of the Medical Center's various outpatient and inpatient clinical services, as well as those of the New York State Psychiatric Institute located on the same campus. The internship offers two training tracks: one specializing in work with adults (Adult Track), and one specializing in work with children and adolescents (Child Track). All interns participate in a core curriculum of courses, clinical rotations, and individual supervision. The Adult Track provides the intern with experience in both outpatient and inpatient facilities. Training in the Child Track takes place in outpatient services exclusively. There are ten funded internship positions; six positions in the Adult Track, and four in the Child Track.
