Program Description

We offer a full-time APA-accredited Clinical Psychology Internship Program sponsored by VA Northern California Health Care System (VA NCHCS). We believe that internship training must prepare future psychologists to work as skilled independent practitioners and consultants in multi-specialty and interprofessional teams that include other mental health professionals, primary care physicians, and allied health professionals. We are committed to training generalists with broad clinical and consultation skills. However, we also facilitate the growth of skills in areas of specialization. As such, we provide interns with training experiences that allow them to develop preliminary competencies in specialty areas and prepare them for more intensive post-doctoral education and training. Internship training objectives within all rotations are designed to build upon basic clinical competencies acquired in graduate training. Please visit program website for a more complete description.
