POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP with an emphasis on Integrated Primary Care Psychology
Organization Description
Salud Family Health is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with thirteen clinics dedicated to providing primary health services to the patients of a defined catchment area, covering parts of Weld, Boulder, Adams, Larimer, Morgan, Las Animas, and Logan Counties, Colorado. Salud also operates a mobile unit designed to provide healthcare to migrant and refugee populations. The Salud system follows an integrated model of care that aims to ensure high-quality, comprehensive, culturally competent, primary medical, dental, and behavioral health services to traditionally underserved populations, thus reducing barriers to care. Salud promotes prevention and early intervention in an effort to reduce unnecessary medical concerns, utilization, and costs.
Fellowship Overview
The fellowship is a one-year salaried with benefits position in integrated primary care psychology. Postdoctoral fellows function as an integral part of the health team, along with other Behavioral Health Providers, including psychologists, social workers, counselors, and graduate-level trainees. Throughout the fellowship year, clinical supervision, and training supplement the direct clinical experience. Additionally, there are numerous opportunities for teaching, research, and becoming involved in management and administration as they arise and are consistent with the fellow’s interest. Satisfactory completion of the residency meets postdoctoral requirements for licensure in Colorado.

Location
Postdocs will be assigned to one of our clinics, where they will perform their clinical duties. Clinics vary based on the size and demographics of the patient population, the number of medical and behavioral health providers, and community characteristics, and available community resources; however, the nature of the clinical work and supervision is consistent across clinics.
Direct Service Experiences
Fellows spend 30-35 hours per week providing professional psychological services. Focus of primary clinical activities vary according to track. All tracks will be performing the following clinical activities to a degree: Mental health screening. Consultation services, and brief interventions as requested by primary care providers. Individual, family, and/or group psychotherapy when appropriate. Psychological diagnostic interviews, and psychological assessments (neurodevelopmental, cognitive, personality disorders and others). Provide supervision (under the supervision of a licensed psychologist) to graduate practicum students as available.
Training Curriculum
In addition to supervised direct patient contact, training opportunities include individual and group supervision, Salud psychology training program seminars, psychopharmacology lectures, and the development of an independent project. The training opportunities are focused on enhancing the postdocs’ existing skills and honing them to be applicable in the current healthcare system.
