Approximately 30 applicants will be invited to participate in video interviews and to attend a CAPS open houses to meet our clinical and training staff and tour the facilities. There will be opportunities to meet with the DoT and current interns during the open house. We are planning to offer one virtual open house and one open house on site. The interviews will be conducted between mid-December and the end of January. The open houses are usually scheduled on two of the final three Fridays in January.
CAPS is a counseling and mental health center for 48,000+ diverse students attending Indiana University. The internship offers abundant clinical opportunities with individuals and groups. Additionally, the program offers supervised supervision experience with predoctoral practicum clinicians and a varity of outreach activities. We also offer ten year long concentration opportunities (sexual assault programming and counseling, diversity outreach coordination and counseling, disordered eating programming and counseling, gender affirming care programming and counseling, Spanish language programming and counseling, grief and loss counseling, suicide assessment and treatment, expanded group counseling, expanded supervision, and brain injury programming and counseling ). The on-line brochure provides extensive information about the program. We consistently hear feedback from interns that they received high quality supervision, many saying it was "the best supervision" they have had to date. Moreover, interns are pleased with the variety of clinical experiences available to them. Interns report that the student population was more clinically diverse than anticipated. Our interns appreciate the warmth, interest, and knowledge staff bring to their experience. Interns appreciate CAPS' positive environment and culture.
