MICAPT has TWO open fellowship positions in our Adult Clinical Health Psychology program to start August 30, 2024. This is a two year fellowship which specializes in placing graduates immediatley into leadership positions in medical education. The program follows a clinician-educator model that allows fellows to
1) develop advanced competency in Clinical Health Psychology,
2) assume leadership roles in Medical Education,
3) develop expertise in hospital and ambulatory practice involving a transdisciplinary model of care; and
4) make meaningful scholarly contributions to the field.
Specialty experiences include a wide variety of health psychology services: Integrated Primary Care, Chronic Pain Management, Inpatient Consultation Liaison, Rehabilitation, Bariatrics, and Geriatrics. Additionally, a major component of this fellowship includes Medical Education. Fellows are expected to provide teaching to resident physicians in various specialties and medical students from Michigan State University Colleges of Human Medicine and Osteopathic Medicine. Postdoctoral Fellows will receive academic faculty appointments at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine.
Didactic training is weekly, combined with other Health Psychology and Rehabilitation post doctoral programs in the city which promotes lively discussions and in-depth learning. Robust Wellness and Cultural Diversity programs are integrated into the curriculum as well. - Medical Education, Teaching, and Supervision
