Our internship program will offer 4 tracks for the 2025-2026 training year in Health Psychology (4 positions), Adult Neuropsychology (2 positions), Pediatric Neuropsychology (2 positions), and Behavioral Sleep/Circadian Medicine & Research (1 position). Applicants must specify which track(s) they are applying for in their cover letter.
Health psychology (Consultation-Liaison) interns focus on the relationships among medical illnesses, psychiatric disorders, and other behavioral problems. Consultation-liaison is a core skill that health psychology interns will learn. Interns will gain knowledge in assessment and diagnosis and also learn to work with medical professionals in a multidisciplinary setting. Health psychology interns will complete three (4 month) rotations in three of the following options: inpatient consultation-liaison, internal medicine/primary care, and transplant surgery. Research opportunities are available for those who are interested.
Adult and Pediatric Neuropsychology interns spend much of their time on the neuropsychology service or in related activities. Neuropsychology is focused on assessment and report writing using a flexible battery approach. Stroke, epilepsy, executive dysfucntion, dementias, head injury, learning disabilities, and psychiatric disorders form the core of the referrals. The adult and pediatric neuropsychology interns will also have a minor rotation conducting interventions, which may often include patients with cognitive complaints and/or medical illness. In addition to testing children and adolescents on the neuropsychology service, the Pediatric Neuropsychology intern can also spend some time in the Autism Spectrum Disorder clinic.
