Accreditation Status
The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences currently has three training programs: Pre-doctoral Internship in Clinical Psychology, Postdoctoral Residency in Clinical Psychology and a Postdoctoral Residency in Clinical Neuropsychology. The Postdoctoral Residency in Clinical Psychology and Postdoctoral Residency in Clinical Neuropsychology should have full accreditation status reinstated after the APA Site Visit that should be conducted by February 2024. The Postdoctoral Residencies (Clinical and Clinical Neuropsychology) have been accredited since 2002 and would have maintained APA-Accreditation had there not been a delay in Site Visits due to Covid-19.  

Interview Process Description (Neuropsychology Residency)
The interview process will be conducted via remote conferencing using the Zoom Meeting Platform. The Interview process will include a group Program Overview with the Program Director followed by individual interviews with faculty. There will also be group meetings with current trainees (Neuropsychology Postdoctoral Residents) which will not be evaluative but will provide an opportunity for applicants to ask questions of current trainees about the OKC area and their training experiences. The interview process will conclude with a group question and answer session with the Program Director. Limited on-site tours of the HSC campus will be available depending on availability of staff to perform them.

We will be interviewing for 1 Adult emphasis position.

The interview process will be conducted via remote conferencing. If video conferencing is not feasible, telephone interviews are perfectly acceptable. The Interview process will include a group Program Overview with the Program Director followed by individual interviews with faculty. There will also be group meetings with current trainees (Clinical Postdoctoral Residents), which will not be evaluative but will provide an opportunity for applicants to ask questions of current trainees about the OKC area and their training experiences. The interview process will conclude with a question and answer session with the Program Director. Limited on-site tours of the HSC campus will be available depending on availability of staff to perform them.

Interviews will take place from Jan. 22nd - Feb. 9th. Offers will be made outside of the APPIC Notification Date. They could be made as early as 1/19/24.

Program Description

Application Due Dates: Neuropsychology, January 4, 2024, Clinical Psychology, January 4, 2024.  Applications will be accepted through the APPA-CAS System for both programs and will be reviewed as early as November 1, 2022. The Clinical Psychology Program will make offers outside of the UND. Offers could be made as early as 1/19/24.

CLINICAL NEUROPSYCHOLOGY-1 position, 2 yr. training-Adult Clinical Neuropsychology meets INS-Div. 40 & Houston Conf. Guidelines. Didactic activities: Neuroscience, Neurology & case conferences. Primarily adults with some child patients, inpatient & outpatient experience. Research Opportunities.

CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY with 3 different emphasis areas, one-year training. All include clinical activities, didactic seminars, and research.

    • CLINICAL CHILD Emphasis-1 positions, clinical & research training, Center for Child Abuse and Neglect (CCAN).
    • PEDIATRIC PSYCHOLOGY Emphasis-2 positions, clinical and research activities working with families of children with chronic and acute medical conditions in inpatient and outpatient settings.
    • PSYCHO-ONCOLOGY Emphasis - 1 position, clinical & research training across the lifespan, Stephenson Cancer Center (Adult) and Jimmy Everest Center (Children).
