Interview notification date: 03/27/2025
Tentative interview date: 03/27/2025
Interview process description:

Conemaugh strives to provide clear information about the opportunities of our internship while learning the strengths and training goals of applicants.  Interviews will include individual time with the training director and faculty as well as current interns.  In addition, interviews will also include opportunities for discussion with various rotation staff members and additional health personnel.

At this time, we will consider the option of in-person interviews, pending the community health situation relative to the interview dates.  Our paramount concern is the safety of all persons involved throughout the interview process.  Conemaugh will follow the guidelines recommended through APPIC with regard to any potential in-person interview.  Conemaugh reassures every potential applicant that ALL interviews--regarless of in-person or virtual--will be conducted ultilizing the same evaluation process and no preference will be given to any applicant regardless of interview format.

At this time, as we work to complete our self-study and APA accreditation project, Conemaugh is eligible to participate in the Post Match Vacancy Service.  Application deadlines and interview dates reflect this timeline.

Program Description

The doctoral internship in behavioral health/primary care psychology provides an opportunity to work in an integrated care setting (Leval 1 Trauma Center / Regional Hospital) with family medicine resident physicians and other health care professionals in a rural area.  Interns gain experience as part of an integrated healthcare team, assessing health risk, providing psychology assessments and group/individual therapy for patients with multiple health and/or behavioral health issues. While serving a general population, there is an emphasis on special populations, including patients with HIV, trauma, diabetes, heart disease, cardiac, Free Clinic, and bariatric surgery. There are opportunities for inpatient consultation-liaison, treatment of substance abuse (MAT program), and teaching. Deadline for applications is rolling throughout the PMVS. Please contact Program Director Richard Kutz for application information (814-534-9369; email rkutz@conemaugh.org), or our website  https://www.conemaugh.org/psychology-internship
