Interview process description:

Day-long Interviews are conducted virtually November through January. Applicants will be notified of interviews in early to mid December via email. Individual interviews are approximately 40 minutes long each and entail standardized questions, group interview (including all faculty and all interviewees) is 2 hours long; a group meeting with current interns to discuss sites and their program experiences, is 1 1/2 to 2 hours long. Applicants additionally have the option of viewing a CMTP seminar.

We have typically only conducted in-person interviews, though given the circumstances since Covid-19, we now conduct interviews in a virtual form (via Zoom). For the incoming applicants for 2024-2025, we will be conducting virtual interviews.

Program Description

Seeking applicants who have strong academics in clinical or counseling psychology and a demonstrated commitment to working with diverse populations/multicultural psychology. Our aim is to train leaders in the field of multicultural psychology. Our training is oriented toward the culturally attuned practice of professional psychology. CMTP utilizes the APA mentored-practitioner-scientist training model. Through this model, we provide mentoring, dissertation/research support-related activities(i.e. didactics), access to Networks of multicultural psychologists and others, inpatient and outpatient (child and adult) placements sites, forensic placements, medical/mental health interface (behavioral medicine) and community-based experience. Focus on evidence-based practices. CMTP has a 50 year history of training leaders in the field of multicultural psychology.

We are conducting interviews virtually/remotely since the onset of the pandemic.
