Phase 1 of the APPIC match is open only to Chestnut Hill College doctoral students. Phase 2 of the Match is open to all students participating in Phase II, including students from other doctoral programs. All applicants are required to submit a treatment summary or case report and a psychological assessment report as part of the AAPI.
Phase 1, all Consortium site applications are reviewed by the Consortium Director and all applicants are interviewed by the Consortium Director. Applications are then forwarded to the internship sites selected by each student. Site Directors review all applications and schedule site interviews. Interview days, times, format, and questions are determined by each Site Director.
In Phase 2, the Consortium Director reviews all applications and forwards applications of qualified candidates to Site Directors. Site Directors may conduct in-person, phone, or video conference interviews.
During Phase 1 and Phase 2, current interns will be available to applicants for information purposes only and will not be part of the selection committee.
The CHC Consortium is a cooperative internship training program that includes clinical service agencies across the greater Philadelphia region. The Consortium provides weekly didactic activities and oversight of the integration and integrity of the educational and training aspects of the interns’ experiences, while the interns’ individual supervision and clinical training occur at a primary member agency or site(s). The overall objectives are to provide interns with depth and breadth of training; expose them to new populations and settings; assist them in gaining greater expertise in settings in which they may have had prior experience; and assist them in integrating academic and scientific knowledge with clinical practice. Interns are expected to develop competence in the following areas: assessment, evaluation and testing; psychotherapy and intervention; consultation, outreach and program development; crisis intervention; supervision and management; adherence to ethical standards and development of a professional identity; and professional presentation and communication skills. The Consortium requires 2,000 hours to complete the internship. Phase I of the APPIC match is open only to Chestnut Hill College students. Phase II of the Match is open to other applicants participating in Phase II of the Match, including students from other APA-accredited doctoral programs.
