Site Name: Psychological Assessment, Inc.
Department: Rachyll Dempsey
Historically we have had a half-day interview process with group/individual interviews and a time to meet the current trainees and get a tour. However, due to COVID-19, we anticipate a shift to be:
~ Virtual (Zoom) meetings
~ 30 min informal meet and greet followed by 1 - 1 1/2 group interview
~ Brief individual interview
The above information re: dates subject to change - we follow APPIC timeline.
Psychological Assessment, Inc has two different training tracks: Community Based Programs and Advanced Assessment. CBP includes both the Shaping Success program which focuses on work with mandated sex offenders and individuals who voluntarily enter treatment due to sexual acting out behavior; as well as Crossroads Competency Restoration which has two main programs: Healthy Behaviors and Crossroads Competency Restoration. The Healthy Behaviors program is focused on helping individuals with developmental delay learn appropriate boundaries and communication skills, in addition to sexual practices. The Crossroads Competency Restoration program helps to restore individuals with developmental delay and juveniles to competence so they can stand trial. Depending on need, these may be split into different rotations.
The Advanced Assessment track focuses on various forensic and non-forensic testing and building expert witness skills.
(training opportunities continued)
Please note the above percentages are included for all programs.
CCR/HB = rehabilitative services, developmentally delayed clients, sexual abuse/acting out.
Shaping Success = sex offender work
Advanced Assessment = emphasis is assessment
it should be noted BOTH TRACKS have some assessment required including Risk Assessment and ax for Tx Planning for Shaping Success as well as baseline testing and continued outcome measure testing for Crossroads.
