Interview process description:

Interview will be held on 1/9/20, 1/16/20 and 1/23/20. The first part of the day (11:30- 1:00) consists of a general meeting of 10-12 applicants and the intership faculty.  The applicants will then have two individual interviews with faculty members and meet with the current interns for questions and a tour of the facility. The day will conclude at 4:00 after a brief, final Q&A session. We will only hold telephone interviews in the event of severe weather, flight cancellations, etc.

Program Description

The program provides an opportunity for interns to develop a solid general set of clinical skills. These skills include assessment, psychodiagnosis, individual and group psychotherapeutic skills, consultation, and assumption of a professional role. All training rotations provide ample opportunity for direct clinical experience. All supervisors provide individualized evaluation and feedback on clinical skills and the intern's professional growth as it occurs within a clinical setting.

Rotations include: Outpatient Mental Health Clinic/Trauma (required), Geropsychology and Primary Care, Severe/Persistant Mental Illness (inpatient and outpatient), Co-Occuring Disorders (residential and outpatient), Geropsychology and Rehabilitation, Pain Management,  Psychooncology/Palliative Care/Hospice and the MH Consult Team. Emphasis areas include: LGBT Veterans, Sexual Trauma, Women Veterans, OEF/OIF/OND Veterans, DBT and Assessment.
