The Indiana Consortium Health Service Psychology Doctoral Internship program consists of the Jane Pauley Community Health Center, a Federally Qualified Health Center, with integrated behavioral health, medical, and dental clinics and several school-based health centers. The training program also offers optional rotations in a forensic setting or an inpatient geriatric setting.
The Jane Pauley Community Health Center was established in 2009 with generous support from the Metropolitan School District of Warren Township, Community Health Network, and the Community Health Network Foundation. It is named after Jane Pauley, a 1968 Warren High School graduate, who grew up in the area and is well known as the former anchor of NBC-TV's Today and Dateline programs. In 2011, The Jane Pauley Community Health Center was awarded Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) status by the Health Resources and Service Administration (HRSA).
Interns at the Indiana Consortium have the opportunity to choose from rotations in school psychology, primary care, forensics, geriatrics, and community mental health. In the school psychology rotation, interns will work with children in our school-based health centers. The major rotation in primary care introduces interns to an integrated care model, where behavioral health services are offered along with medical and dental services, often within the same location. Interns will provide individual, couples, family, and group therapy and assessments. In addition to the major rotations, interns gain experience in medical education, administrative responsiblities, primary care assessment, and primary care psychology. Interns may choose an additional rotation in a county jail or court setting or inpatient geriatric setting.
All interns will receive two hours of individual face-to-face supervision and two hours of group supervision each week with planned didactic training. Four internship positions are available for the 2020-2021 internship year begninning August 10, 2020. Compensation is competitive at $23,000 for the one-year, two thousand-hour internship. Health, dental, and vision insurance is available with paid time off throughout the year.
