Brief description of the typical work day for a postdoc at this training site Days and weeks are a combination of face to face clinical work to include psychotherapy and evaluations, individual and group supervision, and didactic involvements. We see clients of all ages so the postdoc has the opportunity to be trained with all ages if they wish (it is not necessary to work with all ages). We have a comprehensive Testing Center so the post doc can be trained in a wide variety of psychoeducational, psychological, and forensic testing, again, according to interest.

We prefer in-person interviews as fit is so important to us and we feel we get a better sense of the candidate, and them of us, in person. Given that a great fit, positive culture, and employee satisfaction and happiness are so important to us, many of our post docs have stayed on as employees for several years following their post doc!

Program Description

Apply now for this competitive site! Lepage Associates is a very unique APPIC postdoc for clinical and/or forensic psychology in an outpatient private practice! And, working with all ages if you like! It is one of very few such fellowships done in the comfort of a private practice setting (versus psychiatric hospitals, community clinics, or prisons), that is also a multi-specialty practice allowing opportunities, based on your interests, to work with all ages, all diagnoses, and all courts (civil, family, and criminal) in therapy and/or a broad array of evaluations. Lepage Associates is also one of the only sites with broad flexibility, where due to the multi-specialty format you can be trained and mentored in nearly any aspect of clinical or forensic psychology, and all ages if interested. Visit our website to see our breadth! Lastly, our postdoc salaries are typically among the highest offered, our weekly Didactic Series shows our commitment to depth in training, and we assist fellows with EPPP preparation. Most of our postdocs stay on to longer term employment with us due to these pluses as well as our dedication to employee satisfaction!

Celebrating over 20 years serving the NC Triangle and surrounding areas, Lepage Associates Solution-Based Psychological & Psychiatric Services is a well-established and well-known mental health services group. For over two decades we have provided therapy and testing for all ages, serving hundreds of clients per month and thousands over the years, and have also regularly spoken locally, statewide, and nationally. Lepage Associates is a highly recognized name in mental health. While our main base has been Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill and the surrounding cities as far as a 60-mile radius, we are also known and have served clients from Greensboro, Greenville, Charlotte, and southern Virginia, as well as throughout the United States for forensic/court cases. We began hiring postdoctoral students in 2007, striving yearly to improve our postdoc program and experience.

Our Mission & Our Vision:

Our Mission: We work with clients to find positive, practical solutions to life’s challenges and achieve their goals.

Our Vision: To provide the highest quality psychological and psychiatric services to clients of all ages and backgrounds by working as a collaborative team of professionals.

Mission of the Post-Doctoral Training: To foster the development of competent, professional clinical and forensic psychologists who are ready to transition to private practice or any other clinical or forensic setting upon completion of the fellowship year.

In our setting all facets of clinical psychology are present: therapy for all ages, evaluations for all ages, and consultation. Thus ours is a very well-rounded training experience. You can try out various niche areas to see what you like as you prepare for your long-term career path. Additional experiences available if you are interested include research, writing for public education, and community outreach to include public speaking.

Lepage Associates is a supervision-rich environment. Individual supervisors from a variety of specialty areas are available for 1-1 supervision, weekly group supervision includes the same variety of specialists, and impromptu supervision naturally occurs in this type of group private practice setting. In addition, since we work some cases as a team, supervision occurs during those team cases as well.

Lepage Associates is a unique advanced clinical placement in that it is in a private practice setting whereas most post doc placements are in organizations such as college counseling centers, community mental health clinics, prisons, hospitals, etc. Private practice post docs are extremely rare. It is a unique advanced forensic placement in that it is in a private practice setting whereas most forensic placements are in the criminal justice system such as prisons or psych wards. In our setting all facets of forensic psychology are present: family law, civil, and criminal. There is wide breadth and depth in the types of cases and experiences a postdoc can be involved in and learn from.

We provide the highest level clinical and forensic psychology training while also showing the post-doc how to create a successful private practice if they want, the latter a skill that is rarely to never covered in training programs. For postdocs who are interested in eventually opening their own private practice, Lepage Associates has a unique 6-month launching format to assist with this endeavor.
