Brief description of the typical work day for a postdoc at this training site Days and weeks are a combination of face to face clinical work to include psychotherapy and evaluations, individual and group supervision, and didactic involvements. Program Description

Celebrating over 20 years serving the NC Triangle and surrounding areas, Lepage Associates Solution-Based Psychological & Psychiatric Services is a well-established and well-known mental health services group. For almost two decades we have provided therapy and testing for all ages, serving hundreds of clients per month and thousands over the years, and have also regularly spoken locally, statewide, and nationally. Lepage Associates is a highly recognized name in mental health. While our main base has been Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill and the surrounding cities as far as a 60-mile radius, we are also known and have served clients from Greensboro, Greenville, Charlotte, and southern Virginia, as well as throughout the United States for forensic/court cases. We began hiring part time postdoctoral students in 2004 and full time postdoctoral students in 2007, striving yearly to improve our postdoc program and experience.

Our Mission & Our Vision:

Our Mission: We work with clients to find positive, practical solutions to life’s challenges and achieve their goals.

Our Vision: To provide the highest quality psychological and psychiatric services to clients of all ages and backgrounds by working as a collaborative team of professionals.

Mission of the Post-Doctoral Training: To foster the development of competent, professional clinical and forensic psychologists who are ready to transition to private practice or any other clinical or forensic setting upon completion of the fellowship year.

In our setting all facets of clinical psychology are present: therapy for all ages, evaluations for all ages, and consultation. Thus ours is a very well-rounded training experience. You can try out various niche areas to see what you like as you prepare for your long-term career path. Additional experiences available if you are interested include research, writing for public education, and community outreach to include public speaking.

Lepage Associates is a supervision-rich environment. Individual supervisors from a variety of specialty areas are available for 1-1 supervision, weekly group supervision includes the same variety of specialists, and impromptu supervision naturally occurs in this type of group private practice setting. In addition, since we work some cases as a team, supervision occurs during those team cases as well.

Lepage Associates is a unique advanced clinical placement in that it is in a private practice setting whereas most post doc placements are in organizations such as college counseling centers, community mental health clinics, etc. Private practice post docs are extremely rare. It is a unique advanced forensic placement in that it is in a private practice setting whereas most forensic placements are in the criminal justice system such as prisons. In our setting all facets of forensic psychology are present: family law, civil, and criminal. There is wide breadth and depth in the types of cases and experiences a postdoc can be involved in and learn from.

We provide the highest level clinical and forensic psychology training while also showing the post-doc how to create a successful private practice if they want, the latter a skill that is rarely to never covered in training programs. For postdocs who are interested in eventually opening their own private practice, Lepage Associates has a unique Satellite Office program wherein a licensed psychologist can open a Lepage Associates and enjoy the independence of running their own office while also enjoying the benefits of staying connected to a larger team.

Please download and read our full Brochure from our website for in-depth information on all facets of the Lepage Associates postdoc. You can find it at the bottom of our Psycholgists and Staff page on our website:
