Brief description of the typical work day for a postdoc at this training site Resident will have about 3/4 of each day dedicated to direct patient care services. This will vary (depending on the exact position) between psychotherapy (group and individual), psychological testing, and consultation services. The remainder of the time is spent in community service, program evaluation, team meetings and so forth.

Pre-Employment Screening Requirements

Individuals applying to this program should be aware that employment with Kaiser Permanente is contingent upon successful completion of required pre-employment screenings. These screenings generally include:

Background and pre-employment screenings are conducted in accordance with applicable laws and Kaiser Permanente policies.

 

Employee Health Services (EHS)

All trainees must complete Employee Health Services (EHS) requirements and obtain clearance before their program start date. This process includes one or more in-person appointments with a Kaiser Permanente Employee Health Services nurse at the Kaiser facility where you will be assigned to work. The timing and number of required appointments may vary based on individual circumstances, medical history, immunization documentation, and work location.

 

Key Things to Know

  • Employee Health appointments cannot be scheduled until both your drug screen and background check requirements have been successfully completed.
  • In most cases, Employee Health begins contacting new hires approximately 30 days before their start date. Depending on your individual circumstances, one or more appointments and/or additional follow-up activities may be required before clearance can be granted.
  • You must remain available, responsive, and reachable prior to your start date to ensure timely completion of the Employee Health Screen.
  • To help avoid delays, we encourage you to have your immunization records readily available.
  • Training program start dates are fixed and cannot be delayed, adjusted, or postponed. All required onboarding activities and Employee Health clearances must be completed before the start date. Trainees who are not fully cleared by their start date will not be eligible to begin the program.

 

We understand that completing pre-boarding requirements requires advance planning, particularly for trainees relocating from outside the area. Our teams are committed to providing guidance throughout the process and helping support a smooth and successful transition into your training program.
