Program Description

Our APA-accredited postdoctoral fellowship offers advanced training for psychologists to become leaders in the field of health service psychology.  We are guided by a practitioner-scholar framework to prepare fellows with sufficient breadth and depth of knowledge and skills to assume full responsibility for patient care, teaching, and administration in a variety of health care settings, including integrated care. Advanced clinical training in an academic medical center includes patient care, supervision and/or coaching, professional development and a mentored scholarly project. Depending on the track selected and professional goals, fellows may engage in additional research, coursework, and teaching.  We offer advanced education and training in the following substantive areas of clinical psychology; Child and Adolescent Psychology and Integrated Care Family Psychology. Sites aligned with specific training emphases include obstetrics and gynecology; family medicine; geriatric settings; primary care and specialty care pediatrics; school-based settings; internal medicine; neurology, and child and adolescent acute services. As a program, we are actively engaged in examining our diversity, equity and inclusion blind spots and dismantling historical, institutional, and societal factors that impact mental health and access to care. This commitment is guided by Psychology's professional standards and ethics and is informed by evolving personal and professional awareness and actions. We invite you to visit our website and to contact us for more information: https://www.urmc.rochester.edu/psychiatry/education/psychology-internship-and-fellowship/postdoctoral-fellowship.aspx
