Each of the residency program's eight tracks of the Clinical Psychology Residency program arrange directly with selected applicants regarding interview times and dates.  For the upcoming selection process, all interviews will occur remotely.

Program Description

The program offers positions within the Clinical Psychology program in the following eight areas of emphasis

Interprofessional Mental Health:Three subtracts addressing different aspects of clinical training and interprofessional practice are available, offering the resident a range of individual and group psychotherapy training as well as involvement in a variety of interprofessional hospital- and community-based teams.

Interdisciplinary Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR):Within this position, the resident will become part of a team of post-graduate fellows. Residents train within two primary PSR venues, and will also become actively involved in program development and educational dissemination.

Community Reintegration: Within this position, three innovative psychosocial rehabilitation programs at the Bedford VA are integrated into a recovery-focused resident training, involving supported employment, supported self-employment and supported education.

Primary Care Behavioral Health (PCBH):Residents fully participate in all aspects of an integrated PCBH program. In addition, residents will be a part of a collaborative training program with the UMass School of Medicine

Interprofessional LGBT Care: This position offers a unique opportunity to work with LGBT Veterans through direct clinical individual and group interventions.  The resident will also be involved in program development, outreach, supervision, and research/program evaluation.

Intimate Partner Violence: This innovative program offers a unique opportunity to work with Veterans who use or experience interpersonal violence in their relationships.  The resident will engage a range of assessment and intervention with Veterans as well as program development and outreach activities.

Tobacco Cessation Treatment Program: The resident will engage in motivational enhancement and other empirically-based interventions via individual and group psychotherapy with veterans who smoke. Opportunities for research also exist.

Geropsychology: Provides a resident with a working knowledge and skillset for providing the best care practices to older veterans, their families and related care systems.  Rotations from four programs are included in this training experience:  Community Living Centers, Hospice and Palliative Care Center (inpatient unit and hospital-wide PCC team),  Home-Based Primary Care Team (HBPC), and the Outpatient Geropsychology Clinic.
