Program Description

Innova Recovery Center offers a 2000 hour, full time, one year doctoral internship to prepare qualified graduate students for entry-level practice in clinical psychology. We do not accept part time interns. Interns work 40 hours per week, Mondays through Fridays. Innova Recovery Center has a primary focus on trauma informed care and intervention for children, adolescents, and adults. Primary treatment modalities include CBT, CPT, DBT, EMDR, TF-CBT. We use a generalist model focusing on skills of clinical diagnostic interviews, treatment intervention, treatment planning, and consultation. Individual and group supervision, case consultation, and didactics are provided weekly. Interns do not engage in formal psychological evaluations or testing.

During orientation, interns begin to define specific training goals for the internship year and familiarize themselves with the Innova staff. While there are core components of the internship program, our aim is to provide as individualized a training experience as possible with the goal of effectively meeting the unique needs and interests of each intern.

Primary training experiences will occur in the outpatient clinic. Interns will carry a caseload of outpatient clients and assist with intensive outpatient therapy groups. interns will be given the opportunity to participate in the residential and partial hospialization programs if desired.
