Virtual interviews utilizing Microsoft Teams are planned for the week of January 8, 2024 and January 16, 2024. All interviews are conducted individually and attended by the applicant and training faculty (usually a training director and one or two supervisors). Each training site within the Silicon Valley Consortium will offer unique opportunities to interview to learn about the intended scope of training. Internship applicants will also have a chance to participate in optional open house activities to meet the program's faculty and supervisors and discuss training model with the current training cohort.

Each applicant during the 2024-25 training year will complete a year long track in one or more of the following departments (depending on the training site): Adult Psychiatry, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Embedded Behavioral Medicine, and Embedded Behavioral Medicine Pediatrics. Please indicate the track(s) you are interested in applying to.

The Silicon Valley Internship Consortium at Kaiser Permanente offers a Doctoral Internship in Health Service Psychology, with an inaugural class in the fall of 2022.

Our Doctoral Internship program and training are based on the scientist-practitioner model of psychology. Our work is driven by the application of research and evidence-based therapies in delivering state-of-the-art patient care. We specialize in empirically based, symptom-focused brief therapy. Our setting provides training in a fast paced, dynamic environment, focused on outpatient brief therapy in a medical center.

We serve over 1500 patients a week in our robust group treatment program. Through our innovative technology, we have adapted to providing virtual care to an even greater number of our members. Our team of psychologists provides the highest level of training to develop new professionals in the field. Kaiser Permanente is known for providing integrative, collaborative care, which translates to our supportive and attentive approach to training.

Our staff and supervisors develop collaborative, encouraging relationships with supervisees, while working with everyone in professional development and growth. Our psychologists have diverse backgrounds and areas of expertise, placing emphasis on training in CBT, DBT, and ACT. Most interns choose to stay at Kaiser for their career.

We offer broad generalist health psychology training in the following departments: Adult Psychiatry, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Embedded Behavioral Medicine, and Embedded Behavioral Medicine Pediatrics.
