Brief description of the typical work day for an intern at this training site Interns work Monday - Friday from approximately 7:30 am to 4 pm. The work day is arranged around the school schedule to maximize the amount of time spent with students. Interns provide direct services to youth including assessment and counseling (both group and individual) and crisis intervention; engage in consultation and systems change, participate in IEP and evaluation meetings. Interns also spend part of each day completing required paperwork.

Details of the above affiliations CoS-PIC is partially affiliated with the University of Colorado Denver. The training director, Dr. Franci Crepeau-Hobson, is an associate professor in School Psychology at CU Denver. Although CU Denver supports intern training with didactics, group supervision, and access to library materials, there is no intern position at CU Denver. Applicants from CU Denver are given additional points on their applications, but we welcome interns from all programs.

Program Description

The Colorado School Psychology Internship Consortium (CoS-PIC) represents the collaborative effort of three agencies in the greater Denver, Colorado metro area to pool and share resources for the purpose of creating a high-quality internship opportunity that meets the unique clinical and workforce needs of the Denver metropolitan area  The aim of CoS-PIC is to prepare and retain psychologists who provide culturally responsive behavioral healthcare to children, adolescents, and families in diverse and urban school settings. The clinical training sites of The Adams-Arapahoe 28J School District (Aurora Public Schools; APS) and the Douglas County School District (DCSD). The School Psychology Program at the University of Colorado Denver is a non-clinical site that contributes expertise and resources to the consortium.

CoS-PIC offers one-year, full-time doctoral internships beginning in August and ending June 1 each year. Member sites of the consortium provide a range of clinical and didactic experiences that represent the necessary depth and breadth required for future professional practice within diverse school settings.
