Brief description of the typical work day for an intern at this training site An average day/week varies depending on which Track or Member Site the intern is assigned. For example the average number of direct client contact hours during a week range from 10-15 hours to 25-30 hours. A typical week for most interns looks like this: Monday - 2 hour clinical team meeting 2 hour individual supervision 4 hours of individual therapy clients Tuesday - 4 hours of individual therapy/assessment clients 4 hours of paperwork Wednesday - 4 hours of individual therapy clients 2 hours of case management 2 hours of paperwork Thursday - 2 hours of research time 2 hours of paperwork/note writing 2 hours of group supervision 2 hours of didactics Friday - 4 hours of individual therapy clients 4 hours of paperwork

Details of the above affiliations The Northwest Suburban Internship Consortium (NSIC) is Partially Affiliated with the Illinois School of Professional Psychology in Schaumburg (ISPP/S) and Argosy University. During Phase I of the Match, the NSIC is only open to applicants from ISPP/S and all other APA accredited Argosy University campuses. During Phase II of the Match process and the Post Match Vacancy period, the NSIC is open to applicants from any APA accredited program nationwide.

Interview process description:

SINCE THIS CONSORTIUM IS PARTIALLY AFFILIATED WITH ISPP/SCHAUMBURG and Argosy University, IT WILL ONLY BE OPEN TO ISPP SCHAUMBURG STUDENTS and to any student from an APA accredited Argosy University campus DURING PHASE I. The applicants will have an opportunity to participate in a voluntary Open House/Group Interview during the first week in December. During this Open House, the applicant will meet clinical supervisors from all of the training sites and be able to ask questions of the Consortium Director. An individual interview will then be scheduled with each of the Member site supervisor(s) to which the applicant applies. The student has the ability to apply to multiple sites/tracks within the Consortium.

 

If all positions are not filled during Phase I, then this Consortium will accept applications from any student attending any APA accredited program during Phase II or during the Post-Match process.

Program Description

DURING PHASE I OF THE MATCH PROCESS, THIS CONSORTIUM IS ONLY OPEN TO ISPP SCHAUMBURG STUDENTS and to students from APA accredited Argosy University programs.

This is an internship consortium with several training opportunities including neuropsychological, general private practices, psychiatric hospitals with an emphasis on cognitive deficits/geropsychology, and a forensic hospital.
