Program Description

In pursuit of our Mission to "eliminate the impact of behavioral health problems for all people" Anka recognizes the importance of competent and professional mental health professionals. The goal of our program is to assist the intern in achieving the level of competence expected of a clinical psychologist. From our perspective the achievement of competency means more than theoretical or interventional knowledge. It also means that the individual has acquired an appreciation and respect for the multitudes of diversity in our society, an understanding of how stigmatization and prejudice manifest and affect the individual and society, and how all this impacts treatment.

The Anka Behavioral Health, Inc. Northern California Doctoral Psychology Internship is an intensive, comprehensive, and competency-based training program. The overarching goal is to provide Interns with the tools and guidance necessary for the achievement of competency expected at this level of training.
