PHBH provides partial hospital, intensive outpatient and inpatient treatment for a large range of behavioral health conditions. Group is the primary treatment modality, although individual therapy experience is also offered. Interns receive 4 hours of supervision and 2 hours of didactic training weekly. Faculty have diverse interests, theoretical orientations and areas of expertise. Our program adheres to a practitioner-scholar model, and emphasizes refining critical thinking skills and continuing to engage in scholarly inquiry. We also emphasize an individualized, personal and collaborative approach to training.
DISTINCTIVE FEATURES: All interns receive experience with women's issues through the Women's Program or the Eating Disorder Program. All interns receive significant training in Motivational Interviewing through group supervision with the Training Director. Interns in the Women's Program receive significant training in DBT. All interns attend the Evidence-Based Practices Journal Club, which focuses on issues and controversies surrounding EBPs.
ROTATION ASSIGNMENTS: Interns experience two clinical rotations, each of which covers 5 days/week, and is a six-month commitment. One rotation provides an experience with general psychiatric patients in an outpatient setting. The other rotation takes place in either the Eating Disorders Program or the Women's Program.
